Dr. Carl joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2018. She received a B.A. in English literature from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Dr. Carl teaches in the areas of programming, video game development, social network analysis, and database management. Dr. Carl’s research interests include creative self-efficacy, growth mindset, and gamification. She has published research in Computers in Human Behavior and received a best paper award for the paper “Development and Validation of the Information Systems Creative Self-Efficacy Scale” at the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences in 2018.
