Hui-Hsuan Irene Wang, MPH, PhD., is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Care Management at Chang Gung University. Upon receiving her BS in Public Health from National Taiwan University, Dr. Wang joined Taiwan Adventist Hospital for 12-month executive training, and spent the following year as assistant staff at the Office of Medical Affairs, Department of Health, the Executive Yuan, where she joined forces of the first nationwide hospital accreditation and was exposed to hospital regulation policy extensively. The field experiences enriched her graduate studies at University of California at Berkeley in the USA, where she received her MPH in Health Policy and Administration and PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis. Her researches focus on 1) healthcare quality, including clinical and management decisions and patient empowerment; 2) economic and outcome analyses of hospital and long term care policies. Her publications could be found in Taiwan Journal of Public Health, Journal of Management and Systems, Chung-Shan Management Review, Journal of Healthcare Management, and Hospital. In addition to her dedication to research and education, Dr. Wang has also contributed to the professional community by serving on the board of government committees, such as Commission for Healthcare Planning and Evaluation (DOH), Supervisory Committee of Not-for-Profit Hospitals and Proprietary Hospitals (DOH), Dialysis Global Budget Payment Committee (BNHI), and involving in policy reforms of the Hospital Accreditation system and Not-for-Profit / Proprietary Hospital regulation.
