About Me

Dr. Hammer joined the College of Business in 2014.  She earned her B.B.A. in 2006, M.B.A. in 2007, and Ph.D. in 2014 from Texas Tech University.  Dr. Hammer teaches graduate HR courses and undergraduate Human Resource Management while serving as the co-faculty advisor for Enactus. Her background includes working for two Fortune 500 companies and a large, research university as an organization manager.  Dr. Hammer possesses a unique perspective on how to efficiently and effectively operate organizations.  Her management philosophy centers on teamwork, being deliberate, and maintaining dedication.  Dr. Hammer’s research interests include student success, performance management, human resource management and talent development.  She holds memberships in American Marketing Association (AMA), Society for Human Resource Management, American Education Research Association, and the Academy of Management.
