About Me

Ms. Upshaw joined the Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance as an instructor of accounting in 2007. She received a B.S. in secondary education from West Texas State University in 1976 and a Master of Professional Accounting from West Texas A&M University in 1999. She became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2000 and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 2010. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants. Ms. Upshaw teaches Principles of Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting II, Cost Accounting, Government & Not-for-Profit Accounting, and Accounting Communications. She provides academic advising for Transfer and New Student Orientations and serves on various committees.  Ms. Upshaw’s research interest is governmental accounting.
