About Me

Dr. Leslie Ramos Salazar (PhD, Arizona State University) is an Associate and Abdullat Professor of Business Communication and Decision Management at the Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business (COB) at West Texas A&M University. Her teaching areas include current issues in management communication, business communication for health care managers, business communication, and statistics for business & economics. Her research specializes in health communication, conflict management, and interpersonal business communication. Dr. Ramos Salazar’s publications appear in Decision Sciences Journal of Innovation, Communication Studies, Health Communication, Business Communication Quarterly, Journal of Language and Social Psychology, Communication Teacher, and Communication Quarterly.

Her scholarship has been competitively peer reviewed and selected for presentation at the International Communication Association (ICA), National Communication Association (NCA), Southwest Decision Sciences Institute (SWDSI), Association of Business Communication (ABC), Western States Communication Association (WSCA), and the Work and Family Researchers Network (WFRN). She has been a recipient of two Top-Four Papers (2010, 2017) at the National Communication Association and two Top-Four Papers (2012, 2014) at the Western States Communication Association. She also serves on the editorial board of Communication Research Reports, Western Journal of Communication, and Communication Reports. She also performs reviews of research manuscripts for Family Communication, Business & Professional Communication Quarterly, Mindfulness, Current Psychology, Sage Open, and Communication Quarterly. She has been elected in 2018 to serve a 5-year appointment as a Board of Directors Officer for the Association of Business Communication (ABC).
