Joanna joined the College of Business in 2015. She received a B.S. in Economics from Butler University, a M.B.A. from Baylor University, and a J.D. from Baylor School of Law. Joanna became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in 2011 and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) in 2012. Between college and graduate school, she worked for ATA (American Trans Air) and GM (General Motors). Her responsibilities included labor contract negotiations, strategic planning, process improvement, and military contract audits. Following completion of her law degree Joanna worked in private practice as an attorney and led the internal audit department of a publicly traded company. Her research interests include fraud, internal controls, white-collar crime, and business strategy. Dr. Kimbell’s primary teaching and research areas include business law, law & economics, and strategic management. Her research includes publication in the Southern Law Journal.
